Responsibilities
Operate heavy machinery such as graders, excavators, Gradall, batwing tractors, skid steers, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and related equipment
Perform finish grading and other precision work to create smooth, level surfaces
Assist with hauling equipment and materials and help set up and maintain Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) procedures
Perform general labor duties including digging, raking, potholing, concrete work, landscaping, sod installation, and material handling
Inspect equipment, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot issues as needed
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Track job-related information using the asset management system
Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders to complete work safely and efficiently
Mentor junior operators and assist with crew supervision when the supervisor is not available
Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and industry standards at all times
Switch between operating equipment and manual labor as job needs require
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Three (3) years of hands-on experience in construction, pipe laying/trenching, landscaping, concrete work, heavy equipment operation, or related fields
Strong knowledge of construction processes, material handling, and equipment operation
Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and perform physical labor
Valid Florida Class “A” Commercial Driver's License (required for employment)
Acceptable driving record
This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing in accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 40 and/or 382)
Preferred
Experience with finish grading and detailed equipment operation
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify equipment or material issues
Ability to communicate effectively and work well with a team
Adaptability and attention to detail in fast-paced work environments
