Responsibilities
Manage all phases of aviation projects—from concept through construction—ensuring FAA compliance
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team; delegate tasks and foster professional growth
Oversee budgets, schedules, and design deliverables to meet client objectives
Conduct site visits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
Build and maintain strong client relationships, support business development through proposals and strategic initiatives
Collaborate on sustainability and climate-resilient airport design
Report directly to the Aviation Division Director and contribute to long-term growth strategy
Qualification
Required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
8 - 12 years of progressive aviation engineering experience, including airport projects and regulatory compliance
Familiarity with FAA advisory circulars, grant assurances, and related regulations
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong understanding of core engineering principles: surveying, geometric design, hydraulics, hydrology, stormwater management, grading, pavement design, construction administration, and utility coordination
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
PMP certification
Experience as a prime contractor
Knowledge of CMAR/design build delivery methods
Proficiency in aviation-specific software (FAA AEDT, AVI plan)
