Electrical/ I&C Engineer (Associate - Principal)

Responsibilities
Provide engineering support and analysis to interfacing organizations including planning, maintenance, and operations
Respond to Evaluation Requests for work that requires engineering resources or subject matter expertise in the assistance of Planning, Maintenance, or Operations
Support investigations and troubleshooting activities, including Failure Investigations and Issue Resolution Teams
Provide support in the development of Engineering Changes (modifications), calculation development and review, design verification, and 50.59 screenings
Work in-person to support collaboration and interface with the departments supported
Support on nights and weekends during failure investigations and outages, including refueling outages requiring shift coverage
Possess entry-level knowledge and experience in the application of theory to solve well-defined problems or provide analysis, with guidance from higher-level engineers
Coordinate work activities of others as required to resolve routine engineering tasks
Provide input to routine project planning documents related to scheduling and understand the use of scheduling techniques for budget and planning activities
Actively seek out information and understanding of engineering problems and solution techniques applicable to area of responsibility
Assist and participate in the preparation of reports and technical papers
Begin networking with peers to share information and encourage cooperation
Develop decision-making skills under guidance of higher-level employees and make routine decisions subject to review
Demonstrate an attitude and desire to listen to and satisfy both internal and external customers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by the ABET
Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred
A Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program
4 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET
Individuals with a PhD in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET may be considered for entry into the organization at this level
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred
6 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited ABET or 4 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET
8 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET or 6 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is required for this position unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP
Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant
