Coordinator 1, AHEC Program (Internal Only)
Salt Lake Community College is Utah’s largest open-access college, and they are seeking a Coordinator for the AHEC Program. The role involves providing pre-professional training opportunities to middle and high school students, coordinating summer programs, and delivering engaging presentations on healthcare careers.

Responsibilities
Deliver engaging classroom presentations on healthcare careers to middle and high school students
Facilitate experiential learning activities, including organ dissections (e.g., heart, lung, chicken wing), to introduce students to a variety of healthcare career paths
Support director in planning and executing healthcare career related events and activities
Demonstrate strong, dynamic presentation skills that captivate student audiences
Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Work independently in a flexible, fast-paced environment with varying daily schedules. Presentations may begin as early as 7:25 AM and run through 3:30 PM. Must also be available on rare occasions for evening events such as summer program orientation and graduation held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the Crossroads AHEC region (Salt Lake, Tooele, Wasatch, Summit, and Utah Counties)
Capable of lifting 50–60 lbs and transporting up to 100 lbs using a dolly
Communicate clearly and effectively with attention to detail
Always maintain punctuality and professionalism
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities

Qualification
Required
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date
Bachelor's degree in health sciences or education related fields
Trade off 1:1 in experience/education requirement. Part time experience may be considered on a prorated basis
Experience with public speaking
