Production Planner

Responsibilities
Implements an effective and appropriate capacity management and production monitoring system
Maintains all MRP planning and scheduling parameters for all "make" items
Analyzes planned order reports and provides timely release of production work orders specified by the Production Plan. Implementing revision changes as necessary
Interfaces with production teams and procurement specialists to prioritize the most critical items
Identifies and brings to resolution any production demand/supply imbalances in both volume and mix
Provides daily guidance and information to the product line team regarding status of production schedules
Prepares and communicates shortage and backlog reports and provides visibility of other potential interruptions to the Planning Manager, Materials Manager or Manufacturing Manager
Monitors production progress against scheduling needs and intervenes as necessary to bring deliveries back into compliance with production schedules
Identifies and reports opportunities and implements actions continually to reduce waste shorten lead times, reduce costs, etc
Reports all scheduling, capacity, and production tracking data, statistics and metrics as defined by the Master Schedule policy. This will include confirming and reporting labor hours for the shop
Assists finance as needed to understand job costs and/or variances
Assists in processing and expediting Customer RMAs and supplier non-conformances
Ensures the safety of employees by following and enforcing safety policies and procedures
Supports facility, equipment and process improvements and 6S initiatives
Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or Company
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a supply chain functional domain, or equivalent or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, planning, purchasing, logistics and warehouse operations
Familiar with the use of Warehouse Management System applications and reporting tools
An ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization with operations, finance, and supply chain
Understands the financial impact of inventory transactions
Able to lead by example in rigorously applying company standards and procedures
Excellent Manufacturing processes knowledge
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Advanced level understanding of ERP software systems. Preferably SAP
Commitment to continuous improvement and comfortable performing in an evolving work environment
Complies with applicable company policies', including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures
Remain current with required safety training & ensure employees are adhering to safety expectations (including but not limited to drug and alcohol training, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials)
Ability to demonstrate principled leadership with sound business ethics and consistency with principles, values, and behavior
