Responsibilities
Prepares requests for new, renewal and modification loans, forwards to Loan Processing Department and coordinates with lender to ensure timely handling of requests. Duties include: inputting customer and loan information into loan software, preparing necessary loan forms, verifying terms and conditions, preparing debt/deposit summaries, reviewing customer credit file for completeness, verifying that we are within officer and bank lending limits, completing loan check list, and obtaining any necessary documents, obtaining necessary signatures, preparing loan tickets and returning to Loan Processing
Monitors WIP list and tries to clear in a timely manner. Assists lender in researching, following up and clearing all technical exceptions, expired financial statements, delinquent titles and expired commitments. Verifies accuracy of CIS information and updates when required. Works lender’s past due list when required
Prepares requests for new loans, forwards to Loan Processing Department and coordinates with lender to ensure timely handling of requests. Prepares new loan documentation when required
Reviews lender’s Future Maturity and Expiring Commitment Reports with lender. Prepares requests for loan renewals, forwards to Loan Processing and coordinates with lender to ensure timely handling of renewals or modifications. Duties include: pulling customer’s credit file, ensuring interest has been paid and to what date, getting terms and conditions from officer, making any necessary rate changes, ensuring current financial statements are available, ensuring current insurance is in force, ensuring good corporate standing of borrower, mailing forms if necessary, preparing loan information sheet, preparing credit memo (if requested by lender), preparing internal and external clearing, getting appropriate signatures and sending to Loan Processing
Prepares packages for Senior Loan Meetings, compiles all information, determines level of approval required based on lending limits, follows procedures for submitting loan documents and meets deadlines for distribution of loans
Processes requests for advances on Master Revolving Loans and Draw Loans including verification of funds available, verification that conditions of draw have been met and preparation of checks, deposits, and offsetting loan entries. Sends draw requests to Loan Services in a timely manner. Processes appropriate documentation and entries for participation loans. Completes construction inspection sheets for construction draws. Also orders title updates from attorney
Researches and prepares watch and classified loan updates to include: researching necessary balance and payments and updating status changes
Handles customer requests for information and assists with problem solving for loan, deposit and consumer credit issues. Processes exception item processing in lender’s absence
Actively looks for sales opportunities with existing client base and has ability to open accounts
Must score at least 85% on Product Knowledge Exam annually; if applicant does not have a current score they must take and pass the Product Knowledge Exam within 90 days of starting the position
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED
Minimum two years' related office and/or banking experience
Experience as a Lending Assistant, Personal Banker, or Loan Processor and recent experience inputting loans for consumers (installments & mortgages) and businesses
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and provide excellent customer service
Knowledgeable of Central Bank products
Proficient in opening accounts and using the Bank's deposit and loan systems
Proven record of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information in a discrete manner
Ability to professionally handle customers, either by telephone or in person
Employees who do not have a current Product Knowledge score of 85% must pass the Product Knowledge Exam before being allowed to interview
Must score at least 85% on Product Knowledge Exam annually; if applicant does not have a current score they must take and pass the Product Knowledge Exam within 90 days of starting the position
