The Emerging Companies Group Tax Partner will oversee tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for emerging growth and startup companies, helping them navigate complex tax regulations and optimize their business strategies.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with emerging company clients in industries ranging from technology, food & beverage, health & beauty, professional services, and other high growth industries
Strong business acumen to understand the needs and challenges of startups and growth stage businesses and provide tailored business services
Collaborate with clients to develop tax-efficient strategies aligned with their business goals
Advise on tax implications of various business decisions, such as fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, and employee stock options
Ensure clients' tax compliance by reviewing tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that could impact clients
Have a strong awareness of State and Local tax (SALT) matters and business tax nexus
Offer guidance on structuring equity compensation plans for employees, including stock options, restricted stock units, and more
Develop continuous client outreach to discuss business issues and provide solutions to emerging companies
Provide guidance on research and development (R&D) tax credits and other incentives relevant to emerging companies
Lead and manage an existing dedicated team of tax professionals, including associates and senior associates
Mentor junior team members, helping them develop their technical skills and expertise
Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion within the emerging companies market
Participate in business development activities, such as networking events, seminars, and conferences
Create and execute a go to market strategy and look for opportunities for growth within the group
Educate clients on tax strategies, compliance requirements, and potential risks
Provide training sessions or workshops to help clients understand complex tax concepts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required or equivalent experience
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation or relevant professional qualification
Extensive experience in providing tax advisory and compliance services to emerging companies and entrepreneurs
Strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, and their application to startup businesses
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Leadership experience and the ability to manage and motivate a team
Business acumen and the ability to think strategically
