Responsibilities
Ingest data from on-prem systems, cloud platforms, and APIs
Build scalable pipelines using ADF and Event Hub
Clean, normalize, and enrich data
Apply business logic in ETL/ELT workflows
Design and maintain Data Lake and Data Warehouse
Optimize storage for cost and performance
Work closely with Data Scientists, BI Developers, and Architects
Ensure data quality and availability
Enforce governance policies
Ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
Monitor workloads
Scale Azure resources efficiently
Qualification
Required
Strong background as an Azure Data Engineer / Data Architect with hands-on cloud data platform design and implementation
Cloud Platform Expertise (Microsoft Azure)
Candidates must have deep knowledge of: Azure Data Factory (ADF) – ETL/ELT pipeline development
Azure Synapse Analytics – Data warehousing & analytics
Azure Databricks – Big data processing & ML workloads
Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) – Scalable data storage
Azure SQL Database – Relational data management
Azure Event Hub / IoT Hub – Real-time streaming ingestion
Design data models for structured & unstructured datasets
Implement Star Schema and Snowflake Schema for analytics
Build end-to-end ingestion and transformation pipelines
Orchestrate workflows using ADF and Databricks
SQL (T-SQL – Azure SQL)
Python or Scala (Databricks)
PowerShell for automation
Apache Spark on Databricks
Large-scale data processing and performance tuning
RBAC implementation
Data encryption and compliance controls
Azure Key Vault for secrets management
Azure Monitor
Log Analytics
Pipeline & query performance tuning
