Responsibilities

Delivering a dynamic customer experience to all customers and demonstrating a strong commitment to service excellence
Obtaining demographic, insurance, and medical information to ensure an accurate and complete registration
Performing insurance verification, data collection and documentation
Determining medical necessity for services based on established medical criteria
Identifying patient financial responsibilities and collecting applicable monies
Acting as liaison to all internal and external customers to facilitate access to hospital services
Securing all necessary documentation to register the patient's visit
Performing other duties as assigned

Qualification

Hospital insurance plansMedical terminologyOutpatient proceduresTyping skillsCustomer service

Required

Minimum 2 years' experience with hospital insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's, and PPO's
Excellent typing and computer skills
Familiarity with area managed care plans and contractual terms
Two to four years of healthcare experience in the outpatient setting
Knowledge of outpatient procedures and medical terminology required
Knowledge of Federal and third-party payor requirements
