This role assists with financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and daily accounting activities across multiple properties, housing authorities, and affiliated nonprofit organizations.

Responsibilities
Respond to vendor requests for payment status
Review and Decision Positive Pay items
Record deposits made directly to the bank
Monitor AR and AP inboxes to respond to requests or route them to the correct party
Reconcile deposits recorded to deposits received
Post Journal Entries as needed and file appropriate backup
Review LaHIP loan balances and ensure they are correctly reflected on the financial statements
Collect mortgage statements and ensure they match financial records
Collect and correctly file financial support documents
Assist in the preparation of program workpapers
Reconcile bank accounts
Cultivate positive and productive partnerships with internal colleagues by facilitating open communication, aligning goals, and promoting a culture of mutual support to drive organizational success
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations and internal controls
Work with internal and external customers, investors, and auditors to provide support, documentation, and reporting as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required
Strong desire to work with a team and help others
Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and fund accounting principles
Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license with an acceptable driving record (no major violations within the last 3 years) and be insurable through our insurance carriers
A criminal history and motor vehicle background check is required
