Reporting Analyst – Healthcare Operations & Executive Insights
Surgical Affiliates Management Group, Inc. is seeking a Reporting Analyst to support operational excellence and strategic decision-making through data analysis. The role involves gathering, validating, and analyzing data to create reports and dashboards for various stakeholders, requiring strong analytical skills and expertise in data visualization tools.

Responsibilities
Identify, request, and collect data from internal systems, hospital partners, external vendors, and third-party sources
Validate, clean, and prepare datasets for analysis, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency
Partner with IT, Clinical Operations, Finance, and Business Development to centralize dataflows and establish reliable data pipelines
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, and visuals that support operational and strategic reporting needs
Develop presentation-ready reports for leadership meetings, board discussions, client performance reviews, and program updates
Summarize key findings through narratives, charts, tables, and visual storytelling to make complex information understandable and actionable
Recommend visualization methods, layout, sequencing, and report design based on SAMGI branding and data best practices
Perform initial analysis and sanity checks on all reports to ensure accuracy and relevance
Identify trends, outliers, or areas of concern that may require attention or escalation prior to presentation
Conduct reconciliation against source systems or historical reporting where needed
Ensure all reports are consistent with SAMGI definitions, metrics, and accepted methodologies
Work closely with Operations, Clinical Leadership, Finance, Recruitment, and Business Development to understand reporting requirements and evolving data needs
Support program launches, performance reviews, audits, and strategic planning meetings with accurate, timely insights
Assist presenters (Leadership, VP of Operations, Medical Directors, etc.) by preparing slide decks, supporting documents, and talking points
Serve as a resource for internal teams seeking guidance on metrics, data interpretation, and visual design
Understand the lifecycle of data from intake to reporting, including sources, transformations, and business logic
Make recommendations on how data should flow to improve reliability, automation, and long-term scalability
Apply storytelling principles to ensure reports clearly communicate 'the why' behind the data
Meet regularly with key internal and external stakeholders to identify reporting needs, including program statistics, performance analysis, client-facing presentations, leadership reviews, and board materials
Translate stakeholder needs into clearly defined reporting requirements, metrics, and deliverables for each hospital program
Develop, maintain, and manage a master reporting calendar that tracks report delivery dates, standing meetings, ad hoc requests, and presentation timelines across all programs and departments
Coordinate report preparation and delivery to ensure deadlines are met and materials are aligned with the intended audience and meeting objectives
Proactively anticipate upcoming reporting needs based on program cadence, contract requirements, and leadership priorities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5 years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, or data visualization
Strong proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization design)
Advanced PowerPoint skills, including slide design, sequencing, and professional presentation formatting
Ability to understand medical terminology, healthcare operations, and business metrics
Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Familiarity with other analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power Query, DAX, Power BI)
