Responsibilities
Architect and lead enterprise MDM strategies specific to payer data domains (e.g., Member, Provider, Plan/Product, Group, and Contract)
Establish robust data governance models, stewardship roles, and metadata frameworks that align with NCQA, CMS, and HEDIS reporting requirements
Design FHIR-native and standards-compliant interoperability frameworks across claims, eligibility, prior auth, provider directories, and care management systems
Collaborate with client technology teams to define golden record approaches and mitigate fragmentation across legacy, cloud, and vendor-hosted systems
Build scalable, compliant integration patterns using platforms such as MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, and Kafka for real-time, event-driven architecture
Partner with regulatory, security, and compliance leaders to ensure HIPAA, HITRUST, FISMA, NIST, and CMS interoperability mandates (e.g., CMS Final Rule, TEFCA) are met
Align MDM and interoperability capabilities to product transformation efforts including digital front door, value-based care enablement, and consumer engagement
Provide architectural oversight on MDM tools and clinical products. Lead implementation and optimization efforts
Translate strategic business goals into scalable technical data solutions, working across clinical, claims, speciality, operations, technology, and provider network domains
Mentor internal engineering and architecture teams and guide customers though enterprise-level decisions on data quality, source system rationalization, etc

Qualification
Required
10+ years of enterprise data architecture experience, with at least 5 years leading MDM and interoperability solutions for healthcare payors
Demonstrated success working with Fortune 50 payer clients (e.g., Anthem/Elevance, UnitedHealth Group, CVS/Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Centene)
Deep familiarity with payer operations including claims lifecycle, eligibility and enrollment, provider network management, and member engagement workflows
Expertise with interoperability standards: FHIR, HL7, X12 (270/271, 834, 837, 835), CDA, and HIPAA-compliant API frameworks
Experience architecting MDM solutions including multi-tenant, federated models
Strong proficiency in cloud data architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP), API management, event streaming, and secure data exchange mechanisms
Solid understanding of CMS Interoperability Rules, TEFCA, and other ONC/NCQA-driven payer data mandates
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related technical discipline
Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills; able to align data architecture decisions with business and compliance priorities
You must have a 'can do' attitude – willingness to accept challenges & solve problems
Deep technical leadership in building and scaling interoperability capabilities across Fortune 50 payer organizations
Experience aligning enterprise platforms with CMS interoperability mandates, designing FHIR API frameworks, and integrating real-time and batch data flows across claims, enrollment, provider, and care domains
Proficiency in API management, bulk data exchange, and secure payer-to-payer and third-party connectivity
A strong understanding of regulatory, security, and member data protection requirements—combined with platform expertise in systems like Facets, QNXT, and HealthEdge
Experience designing architectures that meet payer data retention policies, access control requirements, and multi-tenant security in cloud environments
Preferred
Experience guiding clients through AI adoption in MDM workflows—while balancing innovation with operational and compliance rigor
Familiarity with compliance integration into DevSecOps pipelines and third-party data exchange risk assessments
