Responsibilities
Assume full responsibility for complex tax engagements
Train and supervise associates assigned to the engagement
Gain in-depth exposure to a variety of entities and industries
Research technical issues as they arise
Exercise professional judgment related to technical issues if needed
Develop an area of expertise and eventually review tax returns in their area of expertise
Make tax adjustments to client’s financial statements and prepare supporting workpapers for tax return
Have an understanding of making M-1 and M-3 adjustments
Possess knowledge or at least a broad understanding of special allocations and basis tracking
Assist with quarterly and annual tax planning, projections, and estimated tax calculations
Assist in managing client expectations, deadlines, and deliverables
Take ownership of assigned projects and proactively resolve issues
Qualification
Required
2-3+ years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting environment
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America
Ability to work overtime during certain seasonal periods
Preferred
Experience working in a professional office is preferred but not required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a degree in another discipline with various course works in taxes and accounting, through intermediate level preferred
