Entry-Level Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

Perform local field investigations to document existing conditions and ongoing construction projects
Develop and detail portions of project designs under the direction of experienced engineers
Perform calculations for new and existing structural building elements
Review and interpret technical documents and designs
Review and evaluate building codes and specifications
Assist experienced engineers in authoring of technical reports and project correspondence
Attendance and participation in project meetings with clients and other design professionals under the supervision of experienced engineers

Required

An interest in solving problems in the built world
BS or MS in civil /structural engineering
0 – 3 years of engineering experience (previous engineering internship experience is preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to adapt to new project types and tasks
Able to perform physical field work, including climbing ladders, performing visual observations from afar/rooftops/scaffolding, using precision instruments, etc
Current U.S. driver's license (required)
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Experience with AutoCAD
Successful completion of the FE Exam and/or an active EIT registration; The FE exam must be successfully completed within (6) months of starting employment
Legal ability to work in the United States

Preferred

Experience with material codes including ACI 318, AISC 360, NDS, etc. is preferred
Familiarity with RISA-3D is a plus
