Healthcare Office Assistant & Front Desk Specialist, SCJC
The University of Virginia is seeking a Healthcare Office Assistant & Front Desk Specialist for the Sheila C. Johnson Center for Clinical Services within the School of Education and Human Development. Conduct a range of clinical support services, potentially including patient reception and telephone screening
Obtaining insurance information and authorization
Scheduling appointments
Referral and file management
Credentialing
Purchasing
Chart auditing
Data tracking
Troubleshooting
Advising on solutions and implementing process improvements as needed to support high quality clinical care and clinical training
Qualification
Required
Strong organizational skills
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Digital fluency and general knowledge of Microsoft office software (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word)
Ability to learn and interface with University and Clinic technologies (electronic medical record, accounting systems, etc.)
Ability to interact with various levels of internal and external constituencies with confidentiality and high levels of customer service
Ability to work quickly at times, while maintaining accuracy and professional demeanor
Ability to work remotely and in-person
High School Graduate or Equivalent required
2 years relevant experience required
Access Associate fully cross-trained to cover multiple specialties will be considered in lieu of the 2 years relevant experience
Preferred
Associates degree preferred
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods
Repetitive motion: (computer and mouse use)
Proficient communicative skill across spoken, writing domains
Adequate auditory and visual skills
Attention to detail and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely
