Responsibilities
Defines and executes a comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational objectives
Leads cross-functional data initiatives, partnering with business and technology leaders to drive value through data
Develops a roadmap for data capabilities, including governance, analytics, architecture, and tooling
Establishes and oversees data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
Champions data quality initiatives and drives the adoption of data stewardship across departments
Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies
Builds and leads a high-performing data operations team responsible for metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and MDM (Master Data Management)
Oversees the development and management of KPIs to monitor data usage, health, and integrity
Drives operational efficiency through process automation, data integration, and tooling improvements
Collaborates with IT and engineering teams to define and maintain scalable data infrastructure and architecture
Leads the evaluation and implementation of modern data platforms, tools, and technologies (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data lakes)
Serves as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data needs are met and aligned with business goals
Provides executive-level insights and updates on data initiatives and outcomes
Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or data operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
Proven experience leading enterprise data strategy initiatives
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance & Stewardship Professional)
Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., Insurance)
