The Emergency Management Program Coordinator will implement and coordinate programs that deliver emergency preparedness and recovery services while collaborating with various community organizations and agencies.

Law Enforcement

Responsibilities

Implements and coordinates programs that provide emergency preparedness and recovery services to the public
Coordinates and collaborates with community-based organizations, public agencies, coalitions, schools, and other appropriate facilities to implement programs
Leads and coordinates all outreach activities for the Department
Participates in on-site public education and public relations efforts
Builds and cultivates meaningful, professional relationships with stakeholders
Will serve in various roles in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during activations
Reviews County, State and National priorities and how they may apply to emergency management and Coconino County priorities
Prepares and disseminates informational program materials
May participate in the recruitment of volunteers, practicum students and interns
May coach and train student employees, interns and/or volunteers
Performs related work as assigned

Required

Associate degree in public/business administration, or a related field within subject area, and two years of administrative experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment
The final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year Arizona Motor Vehicle Report
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of emergency management administration
Considerable knowledge of state and federal program guidelines and regulations related to emergency management
Considerable knowledge of community resources and public programs
Considerable knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources
Considerable knowledge of serving culturally diverse populations
Considerable knowledge of professional community education and training techniques
Working knowledge of software specific to program needs
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Skill in operation of various office equipment, including applicable software
Skill in facilitating groups
Skill in developing educational programs
Skill in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a culturally diverse client population and various socioeconomic groups
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Ability to respond to employees and the public regarding emergency management concerns and issues
Ability to effectively manage multiple and changing priorities
Ability to work with all levels of internal and external organizations
Ability to perform outreach services
Ability to prepare and maintain complex reports and records
Ability to work safely and support a culture of workplace safety
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, community groups and other agencies and the public
Ability to work with culturally diversified groups
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Preferred

Associate degree in Emergency Management; or higher
FEMA certification in IS 100, 200, 700, and 800
ICS 300, 400, and FEMA Professional Development Series certification is highly desirable
Experience conducting public outreach campaigns, including public speaking
Experience managing and coordinating public engagement through multiple social media platforms
Experience working on an Incident Management Team or in an Emergency Operations Center
