Quality Assurance Specialist
Pantex Plant is a key player in safeguarding national security through specialized work. The Quality Assurance Specialist will ensure the implementation of quality principles and requirements while supporting various teams to achieve mission delivery and organizational goals.

Responsibilities
Ensures use of principles and requirements required are implemented in all activities at Pantex
Support Product Realization Teams, Nuclear Enterprise Assurance, Pantex Operations, Pantex Process Engineering and Engineering, Procurement & Construction to achieve mission delivery
Identifies and communicates risks and opportunities to stakeholders concerning mission success
Provides technical assistance in the development/implementation of processes, procedures, and plans
Reviews work governing documents, routing changes or improvements, and procedures for technical and requirements accuracy
Coordinates with personnel and management from other organizations, and must interface with internal and external customers to assist in the implementation of customer defined requirements, schedules and expectations
Contributes to the Quality organizational performance in achieving and exceeding established goals and expectations
Performs activities in support of the organizational priorities and missions
Assists in identifying scope of work, schedules, and estimates, and ensures the execution and completion of all deliverables are within budget and schedule
Plans and directs activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials or services into partially finished, finished material, or tangible products
May develop and implement methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation
Leads or participates in Quality Assurance (QA) oversight, such as audits, assessments, inspections and surveillances
This may include internal project audits and vendor/supplier audits, as required
Work with personnel and management to communicate findings and issues
Identifies and recommends to management areas to be assessed based on risk analysis and performance indicators
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
Master's degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
PhD
Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience
In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative)
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709

Preferred
Bachelors of Science (BS) in an Engineering/Science discipline
Construction and Maintenance activities
Experience in quality/process improvements methods, statistical application/metrics methodology, engineering standards, measuring and test equipment, basic chemistry, and software QA programs
Formal training and/or experience in NQA-1, ISO-9000, or similar quality standards
Training and experience in performing assessments
Knowledge of DOE Orders and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) quality requirements
Experience in procurement document reviews, engineering design and design reviews
Experience in quality control engineering
A working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint
