Responsibilities
Provide architectural direction and hands-on leadership in the design, development, and deployment of scalable solutions aligned to our New Business workstream and newly selected ALIP platform
Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable technical strategies
Guide and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence
Lead initiatives to modernize legacy admin systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and long-term business goals
Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory standards
Establish and maintain best practices for documentation, coding standards, and integration patterns
Champion the exploration and integration of AI technologies, including prompt engineering and Copilot tools, to enhance productivity and system intelligence
Facilitate alignment across architecture, development, and business teams to ensure cohesive delivery and shared understanding of objectives
Implement reliability engineering practices, including observability, proactive monitoring, and automated recovery
Establish and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure system health and customer trust
Build automated deployment pipelines, incident response workflows, and self-healing mechanisms
Qualification
Required
7+ years in software engineering with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or consulting role
Deep expertise in Policy Administration, Integrations (Batch, API, Streaming)
Firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages
Ability to align technical solutions with business strategy and long-term vision
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change in a fast-paced environment
Hands-on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction
Proficiency in one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript
Knowledge of software development lifecycle
Proven ability to tackle sophisticated business and development problems
Ability to thrive in a team environment
Preferred
Websphere as an App Server / JBOSS
Six years of experience in programming and systems analysis
Three years of experience in project management is preferred
Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus
