Responsibilities
Perform local field investigations to document existing conditions and ongoing construction projects
Develop and detail portions of project designs for new and existing building structures
Perform calculations for new and existing structural building elements, including gravity and lateral system elements
Review and interpret technical documents and designs
Review and evaluate building codes and specifications
Author technical reports and project correspondence
Attend and participate in project meetings with clients and other design professionals
Develop project scopes and proposals based on client requests
Assist in the mentorship of junior engineering staff
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in civil /structural engineering
3 – 6 years of related structural engineering experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to adapt to new project types and tasks
Able to perform physical field work, including climbing ladders, performing visual observations from afar/rooftops/scaffolding, using precision instruments, etc
Current U.S. driver's license (required)
Experience with AutoCAD and the development of structural design documents
Previous successful completion of the F.E. Exam and/or an active E.I.T. registration
Actively pursuing P.E. and S.E. licensure
Legal ability to work in the United States
Preferred
Experience with existing building structures
Experience with material codes including ACI 318, AISC 360, NDS, etc
