Quality Engineer (1st shift, Mon-Fri)

Responsibilities
Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures
Collaborate cross-functionally with the engineering and production departments to ensure that processes in the repair/overhaul of components meet stringent industry and regulatory standards
Investigate customer concerns and warranty considerations while compiling technical reports documenting the investigation findings and corrective/preventive actions
Lead, conduct and issue corrective actions in process non-conformance using structured root cause analysis methodologies
Review and validate work instructions and technical drawings to ensure they meet original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and regulatory requirements
Sponsor continuous process and procedure improvements utilizing problem solving tools, rework and job cost data, and statistical analysis
Promote ongoing improvement of cost efficiency of operations, procedural and regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction
Provide technical support for specific products (Combustion Cases, Turbine Frames, Fan shafts, etc.) and/or processes (Welding, Machining, Thermal Spray, etc.)
Act as an authorized representative of the repair station to determine airworthiness of products and sign maintenance release and material certification documents
Coordinate training to assure the qualification and certification of employees per company or industry standards as defined by FAA approved overhaul procedures and company policy/procedures manual
Facilitate internal support department meetings and assist with identifying and setting of customer goals on a daily, monthly and annual basis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field with an emphasizes in quality preferred
A minimum of five years' experience in the field of quality or engineering in the aerospace industry with an emphasis on compliance to domestic and international civil aviation regulations
A minimum of three years' shop environment exposure with a general knowledge of processes used in manufacturing
Previous experience and participation in continuous improvement, corrective action and preventative action programs
Previous participation in performing internal and external vendor audits
ASQ certification (CQA and/or CQE) preferred
A demonstrated level of competence in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically; Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint including the ability to with basic data processing software and construct general reports
Experience in the aerospace industry helpful. Familiarity with aircraft engine components a plus
High level of interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of company personnel
Read, speak and write in English
