Engineering Technician 1
Teledyne Brown Engineering provides advanced technologies for various industrial growth markets. They are seeking an Engineering Technician 1 responsible for supporting engineering activities, including the design, testing, and modification of electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment.

Responsibilities
Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Engineers or management and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units
Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
Sets up standard test apparatus or devises to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model
Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance
Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions
Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components
Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems
Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron
Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with external and/or internal sources as necessary to procure replacement parts
May maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment
Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Some degree of vocational or technical training in environmental safety preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and 0-2 years of experience in a directly related field
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to read and comprehend work and safety instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP...)
US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance
