Responsibilities
Learn and perform grain accounting processes, including contracts, settlements, inventory, and ERP workflows
Assist with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Support the monthly and annual close processes
Participate in audit preparation and coordination
Communicate daily with remote accounting team members and cross-functional staff
Help identify and implement process improvements
Grow into broader responsibilities, including payroll and benefits administration
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of financial accounting experience with strong financial accounting skills
Strong Excel proficiency and ability to work within a complex ERP environment (experience beyond QuickBooks required)
Problem-solving mindset, determination, and initiative; must be a true self-starter with a can-do attitude who can work independently and loves to learn
Ability to thrive in a multi-location, smaller company culture and collaborate with all team members, including both accounting and non-accounting teams (grain merchandising)
Preferred
CPA preferred but not required
