Electronics Technician - Solder Trainer

New Grad, Entry LevelDorman Products is seeking an Electronics Technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and testing electronic control modules while also developing and implementing internal soldering training programs. The role involves both technical responsibilities and training new solderers to ensure quality standards are met.

Responsibilities
Learn & follow detailed work instructions
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties that may be outside of assigned priorities listed below
Check tag and test unit for failure
Find and review schematic and board prints
Troubleshoot board
Repair board by using test equipment and replacing parts with soldering equipment
Retest to ensure board passes
Keep log of units repaired in CMS system
Participate in various improvement activities
Complete IPC trainer certification
Provide solder training program for new solderers
Provide training and testing to recertify solderers and solder inspectors every two years
Work with Purchasing to purchase training materials
Work with Operations Admin Assistant to run reports showing upcoming and overdue solder training
Schedule training and ensure certifications are printed and posted
Perform regular job functions 75% of annual hours
Qualification
Required
Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with coworkers
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Schematic reading and layout drawing reading
Demonstrate proper use of DVM, oscilloscope, tracker and other diagnostic tools
Ability to identify different types of electronic components
Commitment to meeting production demands and quality requirements
Understand Customer requirements as they relate to their job function
Ability to identify and address and/or communicate any potential non-conformances
Ability to get to work on time with minimal absences
Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or similar discipline and/or equivalent military experience
Soldering experience
Solder Certification – IPC J Standard or 610 Standard
Ability to obtain Solder Trainer Certification
