Responsibilities
Support general ledger accounting and ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
Maintain chart of accounts and ensure consistency across multiple entities and business units
Prepare and analyze Percentage of Completion (POC) and Work in Progress (WIP) reports for active projects
Assist with intercompany accounting, consolidations, and eliminations
Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate expense coding and financial data integrity
Support branch-level accounting activities in coordination with corporate accounting
Assist with monthly financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the finance team
Assist with annual audits and tax filings, coordinating with external auditors and advisors
Ensure compliance with state regulations, including sales and use tax reporting
Participate in physical inventory counts and related reconciliations during quarter-end processes
Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Support ERP system implementation and optimization efforts across multiple locations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency with ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities
Self-motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment
Passion for process improvement and operational excellence
Preferred
Construction or project-based industry experience
Combination of public accounting and industry experience
CPA designation or CPA-eligible
Master's degree (MBA or Accounting)
Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and WIP reporting
Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience
Prior external audit experience
