Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, rules, and functional specifications for Government IT projects
Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, developers, and end users to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
Conduct requirement elicitation sessions, including interviews, workshops, and document reviews
Develop and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and use cases
Support all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from planning and design through testing and implementation
Analyze existing systems and business processes to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
Assist in system design validation to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements
Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis, validation, and reporting purposes
Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect resolution
Track project progress, risks, and issues using tools such as JIRA
Prepare project status reports, presentations, and documentation using Microsoft Office tools
Ensure compliance with government policies, standards, and security regulations
Support change management activities, including impact analysis and stakeholder communication
Provide ongoing support and enhancements for implemented systems
Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in business analysis
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis
5+ years of experience with Government IT Projects as a Business Analyst or in related roles
5+ years of experience in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business rules, processes, and requirements
1+ years of hands-on experience with the system development life cycle (SDLC)
1+ years of experience with SQL database
Preferred
International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA)
Certification such as PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis)
1+ years of experience using JIRA and Microsoft Office Products
