Responsibilities
Develop and review electrical designs for data center infrastructure, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, and busway
Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Architects, and IT teams to align electrical design with overall facility requirements
Establish design parameters consistent with project scope and objectives
Perform technical evaluations, electrical engineering studies, and prepare associated reports
Develop standards and playbooks for consistent and efficient deployment of electrical systems
Perform detailed load calculations and analysis including on-site generation, critical versus facility loads, battery systems, equipment efficiencies, and fault current
Collaborate with engineering consultants through all design phases: Owner Project Requirements, Basis of Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Issue for Pricing, Permitting, and Construction
Maintain accurate as-built drawings and electrical documentation
Utilize AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM software (experience highly valued)
Support Basis of Design (BoD) development and design review meetings
Develop and adhere to electrical specifications, details, drafting standards, and MEP coordination protocols
Prepare documents and specifications for planning, engineering, and design of critical, essential, and non-essential power systems; lighting, control, monitoring, fault current, protective relay schemes, and fire alarm systems
Review and respond to bid submissions, shop drawings, and construction questions
Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
Support commissioning activities and verify system performance
Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for electrical equipment
Qualification
Required
7+ years of electrical engineering experience
Minimum 3+ years in commercial construction and/or data center projects
Strong expertise in document control systems, change order processes, and construction project management tools
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, complex builds with multiple stakeholders
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with competing priorities
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Technology, or related field (required)
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or Project Management
Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, or LEED Accreditation
