Responsibilities

Designing and executing a strategic, metrics-driven fundraising program to advance the mission, programs, and priorities of the Heart Institute
Managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
Identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic investments at the major and principal gift level
Working closely with physician leadership, administrators, grateful patients, and community partners
Translating Heart Institute priorities into compelling opportunities for philanthropic support
Tracking progress against established goals and metrics to ensure maximum impact

Required

Bachelor's degree
Minimum 5 years of progressive fundraising experience, including major gift solicitation
Valid Florida driver's license
Demonstrated success securing $25,000+ gifts
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with high-net-worth donors, physicians, and community leaders
Ability to communicate complex medical or programmatic priorities in a compelling donor-centered way
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Ability to travel locally and regionally

Preferred

Master's degree
CFRE (Certified Fund-Raising Executive) accreditation
Experience with six- and seven-figure gifts
Proficiency in donor CRM systems (Raisers Edge or similar)
Experience fundraising in healthcare, academic medicine, or complex nonprofit environments
Familiarity with grateful patient fundraising and physician engagement models
Experience supporting a campaign or capital fundraising initiative
Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and philanthropic tax strategies
