General Manager in Training
Apex Service Partners is offering a unique opportunity for a driven leader to develop alongside a top-performing General Manager. The role involves managing operations, driving financial results, and leading people within a successful trades business, ultimately transitioning into a General Manager position.
Responsibilities
Train under an experienced General Manager and learn Apex’s operating playbook
Take ownership of a department and lead day-to-day operations
Develop and execute strategies to drive key performance metrics
Deliver a “gold standard” of service through coaching, training, accountability and data-driven decision-making
Build a high-performance culture that fosters engagement, retention, and team development
Lead efforts to grow the team and create upward mobility through skill development and career pathing
Manage financial activities including budgeting and forecasting, with full accountability for P&L performance
Serve as a visible, hands-on leader, with daily in-person presence required
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience leading teams
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Direct P&L ownership preferred, or strong operational exposure
Playbook-driven leadership style with a bias for action
Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
High energy, adaptability, and a proven ability to deliver results
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Deep respect for the Skilled Trades or similar people-focused industries
Preferred
Direct P&L ownership preferred, or strong operational exposure
