Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network and application delivery engineers
Create an environment rooted in trust, accountability, and collaboration
Manage hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, coaching, and career development
Translate complex technical topics into clear, actionable insights for non-technical partners
Encourage continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional growth
Serve as a role model for effective communication, teamwork, and problem resolution
Set direction and priorities for application delivery and load balancing initiatives
Ensure solutions align with business needs for performance, scalability, reliability, and security
Oversee architectural designs, technical roadmaps, and execution of related projects
Partner with internal IT teams, business leaders, and external vendors to drive outcomes
Support incident escalation and resolution while empowering engineers to own solutions
Balance operational risk, business impact, and urgency in decision-making
Contribute to vendor evaluations, strategic planning, and contract discussions
Qualification
Required
Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Residency in St. Louis, MO or the immediate surrounding area
Ability to work within U.S. Central Time core business hours
Strong commitment to integrating security into daily responsibilities and decision-making
6+ years of relevant experience in IT leadership or management
3+ years of direct people leadership experience with technical teams
Experience leading IT projects and managing competing priorities
Familiarity with product or service lifecycle best practices
Background in strategic planning, risk/incident management, and resource allocation
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
Experience managing teams in large enterprise or service-provider environments
Demonstrated success working with vendors and external partners
Experience supporting highly available, performance-sensitive systems
Knowledge of Agile and/or waterfall project management methodologies
Hands-on understanding of core networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
Experience with service management or project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
Foundational knowledge of network security principles
Exposure to cloud networking concepts and environments
