Marketing Director - Event Marketing

Responsibilities
Contributing to the end-to-end marketing strategy for Shoptalk U.S. events, with a strong focus on attendance generation marketing and sponsorship/exhibitor marketing
Designing, preparing, executing, and measuring integrated marketing campaigns across the full funnel in partnership with the marketing operations team
Partnering closely with senior stakeholders to evolve positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans
Driving brand, product, and content marketing efforts that clearly articulate Shoptalk’s value to senior retail and technology audiences
Overseeing and optimizing core marketing channels, including email, social, content, digital platforms, and paid media
Applying rigorous testing and optimization practices, including A/B testing, engagement analysis, and performance insights
Using audience development strategies and database analysis to refine targeting, segmentation, and messaging
Acting as a digital-first marketer with strong instincts for copy, creative, and channel performance
Advancing Shoptalk’s marketing through modern approaches, including A.I., scaled automation programs, programmatic advertising, and influencer/advocacy marketing
Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to scale paid, organic, and owned channels efficiently and creatively
Working effectively across centralized and decentralized teams, including sales, content, operations, design, and technology
Serving as a senior marketing voice for Shoptalk Spring and Fall, bringing clarity, momentum, and executional excellence
Being a hands-on contributor who is equally comfortable shaping strategy and executing campaigns
Qualification
Required
5–7+ years of proven success in B2B trade shows, conferences, or similar experience-led businesses
Deep experience with attendance generation and sponsorship/exhibitor marketing
Strong campaign leadership skills, from concept through execution and measurement
Excellent copywriting ability with a creative, digital-native mindset
Hands-on experience with email marketing, A/B testing, engagement analysis, and optimization
Proven success in social media and content marketing for professional audiences
Specialized expertise in audience development, database analysis, and segmentation
Experience working effectively within both centralized and decentralized marketing models
Solid understanding of A.I./AEO, programmatic advertising, and modern growth marketing approaches
A data-driven mindset with a track record of delivering results through insight and iteration
