Strong EDI Specialist (Remote)
Remedi Electronic Commerce Group is seeking a remote hands-on EDI Specialist with trading partner coordination skills. The role involves creating EDI specifications, troubleshooting EDI output, and coordinating with clients to meet their needs on a contract basis.

Responsibilities
Serve as a critical team member in EDI operations across retail and manufacturing trading partners
Proactively monitor EDI activity across ERP, managed EDI platforms, and retailer portals to identify:
Failed or incomplete transaction flows
ASN, receiving, and booking issues
Trading-partner-specific exceptions that are not surfaced via standard acknowledgments
Investigate and interpret application-level errors (e.g., 824, 864, retailer portal errors) and translate them into clear, actionable findings
Diagnose root causes related to:
Master data quality
Purchase order setup and status
Item, pricing, or configuration mismatches
ASN structure, timing, or content
Clearly route issues to the appropriate resolution path:
Internal ERP / data teams
Managed EDI service providers
Retailer or trading partner contacts
Act as an experienced liaison and translator between:
Business and operations teams
Trading partners and retailers
Internal developers or ERP specialists
Write and execute basic to intermediate SQL queries to:
Validate transaction completion
Identify missing or delayed EDI activity
Support operational reporting and root-cause analysis
Coordinate trading partner onboarding, changes, testing cycles, and ongoing support
Gathering Requirements documenting specifications for Trading Partner implementation
Document recurring issues, resolution patterns, and operational processes
Provide regular status updates and time reporting
Qualification
Required
Prior EDI support experience
SQL query skills
Hands-on experience in a functional EDI Specialist / Coordinator / Analyst role
Strong understanding of EDI transaction lifecycles, sequencing, and operational dependencies
Experience supporting retail and/or manufacturing environments
Demonstrated exposure to large retailers
Comfortable working with managed EDI providers while maintaining client-side operational ownership
Experience navigating retailer portals and interpreting non-obvious operational errors
Ability to independently write SQL queries against ERP or EDI-related database tables
Comfortable operating in legacy or highly customized ERP-integrated EDI environments
Strong communicator who can translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Self-directed, organized, and effective in a remote consulting model
Available during U.S. business hours to support time-sensitive operational needs
Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
