Accounting Clerk II (Defense Travel System)

Responsibilities
Provide direct application and travel administration support for the Defense Travel System and its user community
Walk users through document processing steps and provide basic troubleshooting assistance
Provide guidance related to business rules and JTR (Joint Travel Regulation) compliance
Utilize the SNAP (Service Now Assistance Portal) call logging system to receive trouble calls, record documents reviewed, adjustments made, and contact made with travelers or travel preparers
Review documents using the Defense Travel System (DTS) to verify travel authorizations and vouchers are in compliance with JTR/JFTR regulations and Command directives
When necessary, make limited adjustments to travel authorizations or vouchers, and/or contact travelers or travel preparers by telephone to gather further information or resolve more complex issues
Bid and proposal support if requested
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance based on a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 (T3) investigation
HS Diploma required
At least two - four (2-4) years of experience in customer service
Must be able to pass background check and Investigation for Public Trust Security Clearance
Ability to work until 5:00pm
Must possess basic computer literacy, data entry, and math skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Must possess strong time management skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in a related field is desired
