Director of Exams and Certification
The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) is the world's first professional organization dedicated to implant dentistry. They are seeking a Director of Credentialing to provide strategic and tactical leadership, administer existing Credentialing and Testing Programs, and implement process improvements.
Responsibilities
Responsible for strategy and business development; oversees program development, design, and delivery; and ensures ongoing quality improvement for the AAID credentialing program
Provides leadership and direction for the credentialing department team by communicating a strategic vision, establishing effective planning, budgeting, and maintaining an efficient organizational structure
Develops, implements, and continually evaluates all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and best practice standards
Oversee full examination process, including management of credentialing vendor contracts, coordination of examination logistics, development of examination materials, and adherence to approved policies and security protocols
Staff Liaison to Admissions and Credential Board and related subcommittees
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the credentialing staff
Hire, supervise, develop, and evaluate credentialing staff
Develops, manages, and monitors departmental budgets, prepares financial reports, and creates long‑term financial forecasts to support strategic planning and resource allocation
Attend committee meetings and oversee the development of agendas, minutes, and reports for such committees
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
At least 7 years of relevant work experience, with 3 years in a senior staff position
Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, organize teams, and volunteer involvement
Proven ability to manage a budget
Supervise a team of one and temporary staff as needed
Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects/priorities
Strong customer orientation and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and emerging AI technologies
Occasional travel is required, up to 7 days once per year
Some overnight and evening work required
Testing activities may occur over weekends
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Experience using technology to design and develop credentialing programs and processes, e.g., Submittable, test data banks, etc
Proficiency with AMS and Submittable preferred
