Architecture - Project Captain
GreenbergFarrow (GF) is an architectural firm seeking a Project Captain to lead technical and coordination efforts within project teams. The role involves overseeing the development of construction documents, collaborating with consultants, and supporting project management to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities
Develop, coordinate, and produce comprehensive contract documents that meet applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and project requirements
Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
Review and verify the accuracy of shop drawings, submittals, and other contractor-provided documentation
Ensure all project documentation aligns with firm standards, quality expectations, and regulatory compliance
Collaborate closely with engineering consultants, including Structural, MEP, Civil, and Geo‑Technical disciplines, to integrate technical requirements into project documents
Support the Project Manager in coordinating project schedules, deliverables, and team workflows
Communicate effectively with internal design teams, external consultants, and other project partners to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum
Conduct periodic site visits to observe construction progress, verify compliance with design intent, and identify potential issues
Assist in responding to RFIs, reviewing change orders, and supporting construction-phase documentation needs
Participate in project meetings as required
Provide day‑to‑day guidance, technical direction, and mentorship to junior staff members
Support the development of team skills and contribute to a collaborative, learning‑oriented studio environment
Qualification
Required
Strong working knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting/approval processes
Solid understanding of building systems and site-related requirements, including Structural, MEP, Civil, and Geo‑Technical components
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines
Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong communication with project leadership
Proficiency in current versions of Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address technical challenges
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture required
Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial retail, mixed‑use, or multi‑family housing projects
Preferred
Architectural licensure preferred but not required
Experience working in a collaborative architectural studio environment is a plus
