Responsibilities

Drive development and execution of GPS PMO strategic roadmap, aligning portfolio initiatives with enterprise objectives, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities
Lead enterprise-level portfolio management including investment planning, prioritization frameworks, capacity planning, and performance analytics to optimize resource allocation and enhance strategic value
Support the drug portfolio review process, ensuring alignment with global development priorities, risk management strategies, and patient safety objectives
Establish and maintain portfolio governance frameworks, decision-making processes, and performance metrics ensuring transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision making
Partner with GPS senior leadership to identify strategic opportunities, assess organizational capability gaps, and develop cases for ground-breaking initiatives
Lead IDEA intake assessment and decision processes, managing resource allocation, portfolio balancing, and PMO book of work to ensure strategic alignment and operational feasibility
Develop and implement comprehensive enterprise risk management frameworks for GPS portfolio, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring processes
Support third-party organization strategy including vendor selection, risk-based qualification, performance monitoring, and compliance assurance aligned with GPS standards
Implement risk-based oversight models for external partnerships, ensuring contractual alignment, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
Lead cross-functional risk assessment reviews, advancing critical issues to governance bodies with data-driven recommendations and mitigation strategies
Ensure audit and inspection readiness across portfolio, maintaining comprehensive documentation, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
Handle portfolio execution ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards while proactively managing dependencies and raising issues to governance
Develop and implement innovative resource modeling and forecasting tools to optimize capacity planning, demand management, and utilization across global safety teams
Monitor portfolio health metrics, performance indicators, and delivery landmarks, providing executive reporting and data driven insights to leadership
Drive process standardization and optimization across PMO, implementing project management standard processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance delivery excellence
Lead development of PMO capabilities including tools, templates, training programs, and knowledge management systems to support organizational scalability
Support portfolio governance cadence including steering committees, leadership reviews, and collaborator communications ensuring transparency and alignment
Lead GPS ground-breaking change initiatives including process redesign, technology adoption, organizational restructuring, and cultural transformation programs
Design and implement comprehensive organisational change (OCM) strategies incorporating partner analysis, communication planning, training programs, and adoption metrics
Serve as change champion and executive sponsor for major initiatives, coaching leaders and teams through transitions while building organizational change capability
Develop change readiness assessments, resistance management strategies, and sustainability plans ensuring successful adoption and long-term value realization
Partner with Learning & Development, and Quality Assurance to align change initiatives with capability development, and quality systems
Establish structural transformation frameworks, toolkits, and metrics to standardize organizational approach and measure transformation effectiveness
Build, develop, and lead high-performing PMO team, establishing clear roles, responsibilities, career paths, and performance expectations
Serve as mentor and coach to project managers and PMO team members, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities
Develop talent pipeline through recruitment, onboarding, capability assessments, and succession planning ensuring organizational sustainability
Foster culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration through knowledge sharing, communities of practice, and recognition programs

Conduct performance management including goal setting, feedback, development planning, and recognition aligned with organizational values and objectives

Facilitate retrospective reviews and after-action analyses to capture lessons learned, identify improvement opportunities, and drive organizational learning
Establish global training compliance frameworks meeting regulatory and internal standards, training governance, audit readiness, and metrics reporting
Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to ensure continuous improvement, inspection readiness, and adherence to quality system requirements
Champion knowledge management and shared learning initiatives, establishing repositories, guideline forums, and cross-functional collaboration platforms
Develops and articulates compelling vision, translating organizational strategy into executable plans with clear linkage to business outcomes
Demonstrates confidence, credibility, and composure when engaging with senior leadership and external interested parties
Drives organizational transformation through effective organisational change, collaborator engagement, and sustainable adoption strategies

Required

Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, project management, or related field
6+ years experience in project/program management within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors
5+ years in senior leadership roles with direct people management responsibility, including team development, performance management, and organizational design
Experience leading enterprise-level portfolio management, program, and organizational transformation initiatives

Preferred

Advanced degree (MBA, MS, Masters in Project Management) strongly preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, ProSci Certification Preferred; additional certifications (Portfolio Management, Agile) highly valued
Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership, matrixed environments, and influencing senior executives without direct authority
Excellent self-management and organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs
Proficiency with project management tools and platforms (MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, portfolio management software)
Experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or regulatory affairs with understanding of global safety requirements and ICH guidelines
Track record implementing organisational change methodologies (Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter) with measurable adoption and sustainment outcomes
Expertise in risk management frameworks, vendor management, and third-party oversight in regulated environments
Experience with process mapping, process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma), and business process management tools
Demonstrated capability building resource models, capacity planning tools, and predictive analytics for workforce optimization
Exceptional executive communication skills including presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and executive reporting
Critical thinking with ability to translate vision into actionable strategies while maintaining focus on execution and results
Strong business insight including financial management, budget oversight, ROI analysis, and value realization
Superior problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with demonstrated judgment in sophisticated, ambiguous situations
