The Chief Engineer will oversee the engineering department and assist in the detailing, design, and manufacturing of steel joists and deck, while also providing technical support to customers and collaborating with other department managers.

Responsibilities
Oversee the engineering department
Assist in completing all tasks related to the detailing, design, and manufacturing of steel joists, Joist Girders and steel deck
Design of special joist configurations and details
Bolted and welded connections
Review and interpretation of structural and architectural drawings and specifications
Technical support to customers, architects, and engineers
Work with other department managers in developing and implementing strategies to meet Valley’s goals and objectives
Qualification
Required
B.S. Civil Engineering
Structural emphasis with steel design coursework
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Working knowledge of RISA 2D
Working knowledge of MATLAB
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
Ability to work in a manufacturing & production setting
Familiarity with building codes including IBC & ASCE 7
Familiarity with steel specifications including AISC, SJI & SDI
Remote work with frequent travel to plant/office will be considered for qualified candidates with relevant experience
