Deputy Assistant Administrator, Information Systems Division

The Drug Enforcement Administration is seeking a Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Information Systems Division, responsible for leading the management and execution of the DEA's Information Technology Program. Responsibilities

Serves as the principal advisor to the Assistant Administrator, Information Systems Division (TC) for all matters involving the Drug Enforcement Administration's Information Technology program
Conceives plans, directs and coordinates through subordinate managers, the full range of IT services required to meet the needs of DEA
Incumbent oversees the management, development, implementation, and evaluation of state-of the-art, cutting-edge, global information technology solutions, ensuring that they meet DEA's mission requirements
Responsible for response to the requirements identified by information systems users in the development, testing, integration, implementation, evaluation, operation and maintenance of information technology systems used to secure DEA's mission
Designs and develops strategic plans to ensure a sound integrated IT architecture and promotes effective system design and operation of all IT systems
Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of IT projects and operations, ensuring that technical performance measures are met and that projects remain within budget and on time
Provides guidance and recommendations to senior agency officials and subordinates on advanced systems projects and resolves critical problems in a timely, cost-effective manner
Assists the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in developing agency directives to implement Congressional and executive level policy changes for information technology that impact computing resource requirements
Analyzes statutory requirements against existing directives to assess the degree of change necessary to comply with the new requirements, coordinates comments on revised directives as part of the review process and incorporates comments or resolves issues into final directives
Responsible for facilitating the acquisition and support of automated data processing hardware and software
Oversight and control budget execution for contractors through-out the Division
Advises senior management officials both internal and external to DEA on all aspects of IT programs

This is a Senior Executive Service (SES) - Excepted Service Position

Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications: MTQ 1 - Expert knowledge of best practices in information technology management and acquisitions, and skill in managing complex IT programs that support an enterprise vision, create improved customer service, and ensure IT program performance in a large, geographically-dispersed organization
MTQ 2 - Experience in applying knowledge of system development methods, IT operations and cybersecurity to major acquisition programs to achieve the desired outcome of supporting the mission at the best value for the government
MTQ 3 - Successful performance in this position requires progressively responsible experience in the management, administration, direction, and control of Information Technology programs

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
