The ideal candidate will manage general ledger activities, support accurate financial reporting, and collaborate with various teams to enhance operational excellence.

Responsibilities
Manage general ledger activities and support accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
Maintain chart of accounts and ensure consistency across multiple entities and business units
Prepare and analyze Percentage of Completion (POC) and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting for active projects
Support intercompany accounting, consolidations, and eliminations for group financial reporting
Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate expense coding and financial data integrity
Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and variance analysis for internal and external reporting
Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the finance team
Assist with annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors
Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations, including sales and use tax reporting
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Support the implementation and ongoing optimization of ERP systems across multiple locations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP
Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and WIP reporting
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
Self-motivated team player with a continuous improvement mindset
Preferred
construction or project-based industry experience strongly preferred
Combination of public accounting and industry experience a plus
CPA designation or CPA-eligible strongly preferred
Master's degree (MBA or Accounting) preferred
Prior external audit experience preferred
Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central strongly preferred)
