Responsibilities
Provide network architecture design and system operational support to other systems
Establish requirements
Develop and evaluate technical solutions and architecture designs
Perform solutions analyses
Analyze the design of an enterprise migration and implementation plan for data centers, remote access connections, cross-domain solutions, network ports, protocols, and services configurations
Provide Tier III network support
Maintain responsibility for analyzing and developing solutions for networking issues by monitoring all operational communications systems and circuits
Direct troubleshooting and restoring all actions for unscheduled outages
Analyze network activity and performance to identify potential network issues and inefficiencies
Develop and implement automated configuration management software solutions, including automated configuration management, software defined wide area networking, and White Box networking solutions for a reliable network
Collaborate with SMEs in cybersecurity, engineering, quality assurance, and operations to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements
Share expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components
Resolve interoperability issues across platforms
Support the acquisition of hardware
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience with the configuration of network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls
Experience delivering network engineering artifacts such network templates, configuration guides, and network diagrams
Knowledge of L2-L4 networking protocols
Ability to travel to OCONUS locations up to 30% of the time
TS/SCI clearance
HS diploma or GED
Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Certification, including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification
Preferred
Experience with Navy Enterprise Networks such as NMCI, NGEN, ONE-Net, or CANES
Experience with software-defined networking
Experience with network automation
Experience in Network Access Control solutions such as Forescout or Cisco ISE
Experience with networking tools, including Solarwinds
