Responsibilities
Interact with clients regarding technical design issues, coordination of document preparation, and submittal schedules
Mentor and train younger engineers and team members
Oversee production of engineering documents such as reports, calculations, 3D models and drawings that are complete and technically accurate
Utilize and train others in design software such as RISA, RAM, Concept, Bluebeam, and REVIT to produce construction drawings
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in consulting structural engineering with commercial building focus
5+ years of experience in a management role overseeing similar breadth and depth of structural engineering services offered by Salas O'Brien
Registered as a Professional Engineer in good standing
The desire to work towards the Company's goal of excellent and timely service
Experience in the following commercial building construction systems is required: Reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, Reinforced masonry, Structural steel and composite steel, Commercial wood and heavy timber, Shallow, deep and raft foundations, Concrete, masonry and wood shear wall systems, Steel braced frame and moment frame systems
Strong time management skills and self-starter a must
Ability to learn from, and work with other team members
ABET accredited bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil or Structural Engineering
