Business Office Manager

Phoenix Health Services LLC is seeking a Business Office Manager to oversee the billing and collection of resident accounts while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The role requires effective communication with residents and their families regarding financial responsibilities and managing administrative procedures efficiently.

Responsibilities

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and remain calm during emergency situations
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public
Communicate all current information regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and other payment sources to resident or resident’s representative
Explain the facility admission agreement and all attachments to potential and new residents and residents’ representatives
Obtain required signature on all admission forms
Assist Admission Case Manager in facilitating admissions to the nursing facility
Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines (i.e. MCD bed-hold days, RFMS etc.)
Complete NOMNCs and cover updates if needed
Collect private pay funds, including patient liability
Ensure all Medicaid patients are current and complete renewals timely
Must check the insurance for new referrals in a timely manner, including weekends
Participate in on-going training to serve as a back-up to the Admission Case Manager
Refer admission problems to designated individuals
Must be willing to work closely with the facility contracted billing company and follow up timely with their requests
Must possess a cheerful personality and be able to work harmoniously with other personnel
Must possess the ability to minimize waste supplies and misuse of equipment
Just possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
Be available for surveys from ODH or other governing bodies
Must be able to complete all other duties as assigned by facility administrator or designee
