Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day accounting support for a portfolio of nonprofit and public-sector clients
Assist with monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Support project-based and real estate accounting, including grant-funded and HUD-related programs
Track restricted funds, budgets, and expenditures in accordance with client requirements
Assist with Budget vs. Actual reporting and variance analysis
Support audits, monitoring reviews, and compliance documentation
Collaborate with senior consultants and managers to improve financial processes and systems
Maintain organized financial records and documentation in accordance with internal controls
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1–5 years of accounting experience (nonprofit, public sector, or real estate experience preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Online preferred)
Interest in learning nonprofit, grant, and/or real estate accounting
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Nonprofit or government accounting
HUD-funded programs (CDBG, HOME, ESG, CoC, etc.)
Real estate or project-based accounting
Exposure to compliance or audit support
