Quality Assurance Specialist– ISO 9001 / QMS

Responsibilities

Own, maintain, and improve the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
Serve as the primary interface with external auditors and certification bodies
Plan, conduct, and document internal audits
Prepare for and support ISO certification, surveillance, and recertification audits
Manage nonconformances, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA)
Lead root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of corrective actions
Maintain control of QMS documentation and quality records
Coordinate and lead Management Review meetings
Track, analyze, and report quality metrics and KPIs
Support risk-based thinking and continuous improvement initiatives
Train employees on QMS requirements and quality processes
Support customer, supplier, and internal quality issues as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Management
Demonstrated experience maintaining an ISO 9001-certified QMS
Experience supporting external ISO audits
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong working knowledge of: CAPA systems, Root cause analysis methodologies, Document control and change management
Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Secret security clearance, or currently possess an active clearance
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
ASQ certifications (CQA, CQE, Six Sigma)
Experience with electronic QMS systems
Experience in a manufacturing, defense, or regulated environment
Experience with additional standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 13485)
