InternThe State of South Carolina Department of Insurance is dedicated to protecting insurance consumers and regulating the insurance marketplace. The Graphic Design Intern will support public information and outreach efforts by creating visually engaging materials and ensuring consistency with the Department's branding.

Responsibilities
Assisting in the creation and development of high-quality visual content, such as brochures, advertisements, social media graphics and other collateral, for print and digital platforms
Ensuring all design work is polished, structured, and professionally designed to reflect the credibility and public-service mission of the Department
Assisting with communication projects that provide information on the services, programs, and duties of our agency
Working closely with the communications area to understand design needs and deliver assets on time
Ensuring that all designs are consistent with the Department's branding and style
Assisting with the design of professional presentations and reports, including materials intended for Department leadership and external stakeholders
Managing and organizing design files
Qualification
Required
A High School Diploma And Relevant Graphic Design Experience
Knowledge of graphic design principles, including layout, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy
Working understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and/or comparable design tools (Canva, Figma, etc.)
Knowledge of how to prepare graphics for both digital and print formats
Familiarity with creating content for social media platforms, websites, and public-facing outreach materials
Basic understanding of branding standards and how to maintain visual consistency across materials
Awareness of accessibility best practices for digital communications (alt text, color contrast, readability)
Knowledge of file organization, exporting, and formatting processes (PDFs, PNGs, vectors, etc.)
