This role requires deep expertise in Android engineering and leadership of cross-functional teams to deliver high-scale retail features used by millions of customers.

Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end Android application development using Kotlin, Jetpack, MVVM, and modern Android architecture
Define and enforce coding standards, architectural best practices, and performance benchmarks
Review designs and code to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability
Own release cycles, CI/CD pipelines, and Play Store deployments
Design and implement features for:
Product discovery, search, and filtering
Product detail pages (PDP), images, reviews, and recommendations
Cart, checkout, promotions, and loyalty programs
Order placement, tracking, returns, and refunds
Store locator, buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS), and curbside pickup
Integrate Android apps with headless commerce platforms, CMS, OMS, and payment gateways
Support omnichannel customer journeys across mobile app, web, and in-store systems
Optimize app performance for high-traffic sales events (Black Friday, holiday sales, promotions)
Work with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend services supporting retail systems
Integrate third-party SDKs for:
Payments (Apple Pay / Google Pay / Stripe, etc.)
Analytics (Adobe Analytics, Firebase, GA)
Personalization & A/B testing
Collaborate closely with backend, iOS, UX, and product teams
Lead and mentor a team of Android developers (onshore/offshore)
Partner with Product Owners, UX designers, QA, and business stakeholders
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and delivery commitments
Qualification
Required
12+ years in Android development, with strong retail / e-commerce domain experience
Lead end-to-end Android application development using Kotlin, Jetpack, MVVM, and modern Android architecture

Unit testing, UI testing, and automation
Proven experience working in Retail / E-Commerce / Omnichannel environments
Hands-on experience with shopping cart & checkout flows
Hands-on experience with promotions, pricing, and discounts
Hands-on experience with order lifecycle management
Hands-on experience with high-volume consumer mobile applications
Preferred
Experience supporting large retail brands or multi-brand platforms
Experience with –like retail brands (home goods, lifestyle, D2C)
Exposure to headless commerce platforms (SFCC, Magento, Shopify Plus)
Knowledge of accessibility (ADA) and mobile security best practices
Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to balance hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities
Customer-first mindset aligned with retail UX excellence
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-traffic retail environments
