Firmware Engineer
Governors America Corporation is seeking a Firmware Engineer to create and lead embedded software/firmware controls for mechatronic product development. The role involves developing and executing test plans, maintaining firmware/software revision control, and providing customer support for product development.

Responsibilities
Develop embedded firmware and software required for GAC products and services
Develop and execute test plans and reports for product verification and validation
Works with customers, and GAC team to develop product specifications
Maintain firmware/software revision configuration control
Support of current products and new product development
Customer support for new product and/or application development
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ programming as well as high level scripting language such as Python
CAN, Serial, and Ethernet communication interfaces
Familiar with ARM and Cortex processor families
Able to read and understand electrical schematics and contribute to architecture design, component selection and development
Micro-controller internal and on-board peripherals
Control theory applicable to mechatronic actuation and controls
Verbal and written communication skills
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of embedded programming design and debugging in product development
Controlling: Mechatronic Actuators, DC Motors, Stepper Motors, and/or Torque Motors
Feedback and non-feedback control systems
16 and 32 bit processor families (ARM and Cortex)
CAN/J1939
Version control and software development practices such as git and Agile
EMC/EMI certification testing
Preferred
UX/UI for vehicle development applications beneficial
