European Compliance and Global Mobility Specialist

Severfield is creating better ways to build for a world of changing demands, and they are seeking a European Compliance and Global Mobility Specialist to join their team. This role involves coordinating global mobility activities across Europe, ensuring compliance with tax and immigration regulations, and collaborating with various departments to support international assignments.
Construction

Responsibilities

Coordinate global mobility activities across European countries
Support early-stage tenders by assessing cost and compliance implications
Help HR with the technical side of moving employees internationally (visas, permits, immigration compliance, logistics)
Work with the Group Tax Manager on tax planning and compliance for overseas projects
Liaise with external tax and immigration advisors across multiple jurisdictions
Support VAT, corporate tax, and income tax compliance for internationally mobile employees
Oversee HMRC submissions (including Appendix 5) and ensure correct filing processes
Assist in setting up international payroll and shadow payroll arrangements
Help document payroll processes to ensure consistency and compliance
Make sure pay elements align with legislation and working rule agreements
Review and monitor payroll compliance for cross-border assignments
Work with the Deputy Legal Counsel to build scalable governance and compliance frameworks
Capture 'lessons learned' to create reference guides for future projects
Monitor compliance with local and EU regulations (employment, hours, permits, tax)
Seek local legal advice where required
Work with senior stakeholders on secondment terms, working hours, and documentation
Collaborate with HR, Legal, Finance, and Payroll to ensure smooth processes
Provide updates on risks, policy changes, and improvements

Preferred

ATT/CTA or equivalent tax qualification
Strong understanding of international tax, social security, and immigration rules
Knowledge of European employment and tax frameworks advantageous
