Responsibilities
Manages the development calendar, scheduling of donor visits, and tracking of fund development plan activities. Works with CADS and with UDAR colleagues on contact reports, gift and pledge agreements, and gift fulfillment. Process reimbursements for expenses incurred related to CDSS fundraising activities, and assist with the development budget review process as needed. Provide executive-level administrative support to the Chief Development Officer, including scheduling and managing calendaring of various key meetings involving CDSS and campus leaders
Manages donor stewardship, produces and tracks acknowledgements, chair reports, and special grant reports to donors. Tracks and reports on funds, and creates bespoke acknowledgements and VIP donor communications for the Dean. Track and record contacts with key prospects, monitor proposal activity and prospect solicitation strategies, and update biographical and other prospect information in CADS. Ensures that recorded donor data and gift designations are accurate, current, and complete. Manages fund codes and works with UDAR to ensure data integrity. Liaises with UDAR Fund Management and Direct Marketing teams. Administer CDSS platforms: Give.Berkeley.edu, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, Mergo, ThankView, and others
Analyzes and synthesizes knowledge on donors and CDSS to prepare event briefings and meeting briefings for CDSS leaders, including the Dean, key faculty, the Chief Development Officer, other development leaders, and other campus leadership. Work with the Development team and communications on special stewardship projects such as holiday cards, new alumni contacts, and other projects. Develops solicitation materials, including slide decks, email, and social media postings, to support fundraising programs. May research alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and foundations to help identify prospects. Participates in the transition to a new CRM system
Manages the organization and implementation of special events involving donors, alumni, and volunteer leaders, such as advisory board meetings, cultivation, and donor stewardship events. Plays a role in supporting complex major events managed by the College
Engages in opportunities for training, workshops, seminars, and other professional development activities pertinent to the position
Qualification
Required
Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, and customer service skills
Sound knowledge of fundraising principles, donor relations concepts, and practices
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities, including event planning, donor and funder relations and engagement, donor stewardship, budgeting, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines
Able to work successfully in teams and independently, able to shift priorities, manage multiple projects at once, and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational and project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and follow-through
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, effective decision-making and problem-solving, and adaptability to changing circumstances
Knowledge of the campus and CDSS, and its mission, vision, goals, objectives, achievements, activities, and infrastructure
Professional integrity, discretion, sound judgement, and the ability to handle very confidential information
Preferred
Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs, and Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Enterprise
Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and human resources policies, and procedures for staff and academic employees
Experience with CADS CRM to conduct research, process acknowledgements, do donor analysis, and prepare stewardship materials
