Responsibilities

Partner with office and firm leadership to deliver attorney evaluation, advancement, compensation, and retention processes, ensuring alignment with structured career progression frameworks
Manage the DC office review cycles for Associates, Senior Associates, and Counsel, including coordinating feedback, advising partners on outcomes, supporting review discussions, and identifying follow-up development needs
Serve as the primary point of contact for attorney onboarding, integration, promotions, transfers, and departures; provide insight on staffing trends and attorney development needs
Advise attorneys and leadership on career planning, leaves of absence, flexible work arrangements, and related personnel matters
Address attorney relations issues with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
Ensure effective local execution of firmwide attorney development initiatives
Develop and manage the DC Attorney Development budget in alignment with firm priorities
Hire, manage, and develop local Attorney Development staff, in coordination with department leadership
Monitor evolving trends and best practices in attorney development and talent management and recommend enhancements as appropriate
Lead or support firmwide and departmental projects as assigned

Strong leadership and people-management skills
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical capabilities
Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters

Proficiency with standard business and HR systems (advanced Excel and presentation tools preferred)
Bachelor's degree required
Approximately 8+ years of relevant experience in attorney development, legal talent management, HR, or recruiting, including prior management experience
Demonstrated understanding of law firm structures and attorney career models
